Spotify, YouTube, Steam, even Duolingo - everyone is doing their annual "year in review", and I honestly love it. It's always fascinating to see the stats for how I've spent the past year. I decided to jump in on the fun and do a recap of Cat and Mouse Studio.

Renovations are my favourite kind of projects. It's so exciting see the potential in an outdated site. The majority of my projects were on Weebly, but I had a handful on Wix (my fave π) and Squarespace.

βNot too many logos this year (most clients come prepared with one), but I really enjoyed the ones I did do. I think I'm honing a distinct style: clean, earthy, and feminine.

My site doesn't change much in the course of a year, but I did add my completely reworked style quiz this year. I'm a little bit addicted to personality quizzes (aren't we all?), so this felt like a perfect fit. I also started offering migration services and memorial websites.

2022 Trends
"Mind" related websites: 43.7%
"Body" related websites: 25%
I noticed a theme of "mind and body" in this past year's work - people who help others achieve wholeness, mentally or physically. Therapists of all kinds (speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, massage therapy, even golf therapy!), medical examiners, authors, motivational speakers, counselors, life coaches.
I'm already starting to see a trend for 2023, but you'll have to wait and see... πΎ

Never done before: Creating a book trailer
New lesson learned: Always ask clients if they're going on vacation soon
New skill: Photography
Maybe obvious, but don't book a custom website that requires your input, and then immediately go out of town... Now I know to ask! π
I've been interested in photography for a while now, but learned some new skills last year so I can take photos confidently. I'm eager to offer custom photography for local businesses!
